Re: Wilshere ankle injury
FMOB fellas! At least we have a quality option in midfield. He is injury prone is the reason we got him on the cheap but teh club did spend £110m so had to get someone on a free and he will be back quite quickly.

On the positive side, his injury proves Noble still has some use and allows Rice and Obiang to blossom so that we hopefully don't miss him while he's out...

Re: Wilshere ankle injury
In the summer I thought we needed two players to add quality and energy to midfield.
One as a long term replacement for NOBLE plus one more.
Each of those might have cost £10m, £20m or more.
In the end we fell into our old habits … free transfer for an injury plagued player

Maybe we can try again next summer and actually do what is needed.

Same old story unfortunately and at 26 it’s unlikely he’ll ever get any sort of consistency to realise his full potential.

Shame but it was always on the cards

Yes, up to six weeks out after minor ankle surgery
Disappointing all round

Like I said we shouldn't have signed him as he is too fragile.

It's a shame lessons were not learnt on Dyer and Carroll.

Correct, twas a below the belt quip about our Kieron. Could have been just a twisted ankle, but has turned out much worse it gives me no pleasure to say. Sorry for any footballer who is plagued by injuries, my own short playing time was cut short by fluid on the knee so feel for them all.

Hope we see Jack back soon in that more forward role that Noble played on Sunday, don't think we have seen the best of Jack, probably because he was carrying an injury, he is a very decent footballer when fully fit.

Not likely to be back in action until December

Not surprising is it.

Bet he breaks the scalpel and the hospital burns down.

I want a job like that 4 weeks on 6 weeks off

Re: Wilshere ankle injury
Was always a terrible signing. Not very good anymore and injury prone. It was obvious. Really fucking obvious. We just need Daniel Sturridge now to complete the set.

Going in for surgery tomorrow, out for around 6 weeks.

Can't wait for Lanzini in the Noble role if it's a choice of fitting someone in.

Shame for the lad, not his fault it was a daft signing.

Re: Wilshere ankle injury
Sounds dyer ? ... Is that like Kieron ? .. forever injury prone and bought at wrong time ? Or ....Danny Dyer ...”TWAT!! ... who signed him ?

Re: Wilshere ankle injury
But under no circumstances should he play WITH noble.

It's one or the other

Re: Wilshere ankle injury
I agree, I think we'd have been even better with Wilshere in that role instead of Noble.

There's deffo room for Jack in our side

Alwaysaniron 12:19 Mon Sep 17
Re: Wilshere ankle injury
Noble played well further forward today; saying that a fit Wilshere would have done equally as well. So whilst he is injury prone he still gets my vote to play that role further forward when fit. Rice was awesome btw

Re: Wilshere ankle injury
I guess what happens is this during the summer......

Problem: We need additional marquee signings for marketing purposes

Problem: No one any good wants to play for us.

Problem: We can't afford any in-form proven premier league talent

Opportunity: Wilshere ticks the box for experience, proven talent and a household name.

Risk: He's injured a lot of the time

Risk: If we don't sign Wilshere, there isn't anyone else coming in/

Reward: Wilshere #might' stay injury free, he might show some of the form he was praised for at Bournemouth recently, he might be a star on a free transfer.

I can see what they were thinking. It's then a subjective risk vs reward roll of the dice. The two owners business history will tell you they have made their millions by taking big risks that paid off (outside of football).

They don't seem to be learning that the success rate seems to be much lower for footballers.

Re: Wilshere ankle injury
1. Who's actually surprised he's injured? Surprised he managed 4 games.
2. Despite the fact that he's a good player we were better as a team without him today. Rice and obiang were superb.

Don't rush that rehab

zebthecat 1:45 Mon Sep 17

we didn't exactly miss him today
